Choosing the Right Natural Product

Natural pest control products vary widely in efficacy. Some work as well as or better than conventional alternatives. Others are essentially useless. Here’s how to evaluate any natural pest control product:

  1. Look for an EPA registration number — this means the product has been reviewed for efficacy and safety
  2. Check the active ingredient — look for proven naturals: spinosad, Bti, pyrethrin, neem oil, diatomaceous earth, boric acid, iron phosphate, kaolin clay
  3. Read application instructions carefully — natural products often require more precise application timing and technique
  4. Manage expectations — most natural products require repeat application more often than synthetics

Product Category Recommendations
